So, first things first I didn’t write a Blog last week. I was burnt out, things have been changing here in the UK, re-opening up and a moderate amount of freedom has returned.
This has meant I have had to adjust my everyday schedule; my schedule basically allows me to function and although I am totally open to change it take me a little time to adjust function fully again.
With being able to get back to the gym and see more people I just needed a little time to adjust 🙂
So, this past week… It’s been a good week. It was a Bank Holiday this past Monday which meant an extra day off work which was great…. But for some reason it made the 4 working days seem to last waaaaaaay longer. I found myself saying multiple times “is it only Thursday??”
It was a very productive week at work, I tried a new approach. I split my working day up into different tasks so admin, developing etc and do them in different places. So, in the morning I deal with all my admin work in the kitchen, if I have a call I sit in the front room or if it’s nice the Garden and when it’s time to run test and do my developing work which needs multiple screens, I retreat back to my desk set up.
I have found this has really maximised my productivity. I guess it’s compartmentalisation of it all helps my brain engage with the designated task at hand.
On a bad note, I have had to battle some stomach issues from eating wheat and diary this past weekend, it has taken days for it settle down, as a knock on affect I have also become super sensitive to raw Spring Onion and Soy 😦
However, to leave the weekly review on a much more positive note my training has been excellent, I have smashed personal best with the weighs I have been using and my cardio and endurance has levelled up. I am so proud of myself for building my training schedule back up slowly.
So on to the main topic at hand…. now this would have been last week Blog topic as this monumentally big thing happened last Friday for me.
I bought a car!!!!
Now I have bought a few old bangers since I have been driving but if I am honest for about 6 years, I had the pleasure of driving my mum’s car. After mum passed, I have been left with my dad’s trusty Nissan Note, but man Dusty the Note was on its last legs.
Every time I went over a bump especially when someone was in the car with me, I envisioned the axel flying out from underneath just like when DX rigged Mr McMahon’s car in the Attitude Era of the WWE.
So, I knew a new car was on the horizon, but I was scared stupid about making the wrong decisions, not being able to get credit, do I buy an old banger on a budget…. There were so many questions and so much doubt. I was being so indecisive the more I looked at things…. it’s a huge investment of chunk of money.
My Brother is good with cars, but he works offshore, believe it or not he has actually been busier with back-to-back stints working the last few months and there was no convenient time to really get his help.
Anyway, after quite a hair-raising county road drive and a big push from my friend Clare, I bit the bullet and applied car finance through a company that specialises in people with bad credit. I hold my hands up I had a mis-spent youth fuelled mainly by credit cards and student loans which I am now paying for.
My leap of faith proved to be fruitful, I was pre-approved for a sum of money and with putting down a small deposit and the old car I managed to broker a deal for the car that had really caught my eye. The car I kept going back and looking at on the website prior to pressing that apply button.
A shiny Pearl White Nissan Pulsar with all the little gadgets I love, reversing camera, sat nav, push button ignition. I was so happy. Click the link below for an indulgent car TikTok.

The whole process was quite poetic. My parents’ birthday were close together in April, mums on April 26th which was the day I was approved for the car, my dad’s on the April 30th the day I picked up the car.
Last Friday I was extra nervous going to pick the car up, I have been driving an Automatic gear box for the last 5 years, this new car is a Manual gear box, now I did drive a Manual for years, but I was so nervous about switching back.
It all went smoothly; I have hardly even stalled. The thought of doing a proper hill start scares me stupid but I have finally nailed the biting point of the clutch and smooth set off in 1st…. it’s only taken a week haha.
There was one minor mess up, I don’t have the logbook for the old car…. Doh. I can get a replacement easy enough, but I need the VIN number from the old car which is at the garage in Newcastle…. I really need to sort that out so I can go and hand it over and get my spare key for the new motor…. I think I used up all my energy talking on the phone (which I seriously struggle with) sorting out this car…. I needed a recharge period.
So yeah, there the tale of the scariest adult and independent thing I have ever done.
Anything is possible Outliers…. anything.
